Il musicista ispano-svizzero Francisco Meirino esplora la tensione fra programmazione e potenziale fallimento utilizzando un insieme di software, registratori a bobine, rivelatori di campi magnetici, microfoni piezo elettrici e circuiti elettronici auto costruiti. Intensità fisica e precisione cristallina costituiscono la cifra del suo linguaggio musicale partendo dall’idea di registrare ciò che non dovrebbe esserlo: la rottura di uno strumento, la morte di un impianto audio, campi magnetici e rumori elettro-statici in cui l’errore acquista un potenziale estetico.

Sabato 30 Novembre presenta da Standards un solo set solo basato sul suo nuovo disco Hear After: Introduction To Matters Of Auditory Paranoia (Buh Records, released 21 October 2019).

Francisco Meirino, musicista basato a Losanna, Svizzera, è attivo nel campo della sperimentazione musicale e della performance live dal 1994 (con lo pseudonimo di phroq fino al 2009). Ha all’attivo più di 150 performance live in Europa, Giappone e Nord America in festival fra cui Activating The Medium (San Francisco), Observatori (Valencia),  Musica Genera (Warsaw), Norberg Electronic Music Festival (Norberg), Akousma (Montreal), Lausanne Underground Film and Music Festival (Lausanne), Ertz (Bera). Nel corso degli anni ha portato avanti collaborazioni in studio e live, fra gli altri, con Dave Phillips, Scott Arford, Michael Gendreau, Michael Esposito, Randy H.Y. Yau, Lasse Marhaug, Gerritt Wittmer, Jason Kahn, Zbigniew Karkowski, Astro, ILIOS, Tim Olive e Mike Shiflet. Suoi lavori sono stati commissionati da Pro-Helvetia (Svizzera), Radio Airplane (Giappone), Companie Greffe/Cindy Van Acker (Svizzera), Mostra d’Art Sonor i Visual de Barcelona (Spagna). Nel 2003 ha ottenuto il premio per la composizione di musica elettronica delloSwiss Arts Counsil. Spanish born in 1975, Francisco Meirino is active since 1994 (as phroq until 2009) in experimental music and live performance. His music explores the tension between programmable material and the potential for its failure, he is primarily interested in the idea of recording what is not supposed to be : gear failures, the death of PA systems, magnetic fields and electro-static noises and in how he can use them and hear them radically out of context.  Francisco Meirino’s music is fascinating by its physical intensity and detail precision.  He mainly works with the computer, (eurorack) modular synthesizer, reel-to-reel tape recorders, magnetic fields detectors, piezo tranducers, field recorders and various home-made electronics.

More than 150 live performances in various venues and festivals in Europe, Japan and North America. Over the years, Francisco Meirino had the honor to collaborate on studio and live with great artists such as: Leif Elggren / Nicolas Bernier / Gerritt Wittmer / ILIOS / Dave Phillips / Scott Arford / Michael Gendreau / Michael Esposito / Astro / Randy H.Y. Yau / Lasse Marhaug / Mike Shiflet / Jason Kahn / Kiko C. Esseiva etc…
